  2. Dear Reader;

  4.         Welcome to the second issue of The Free American Magazine! We are
  5. happy to greet you in these electronic pages, because you are the reason
  6. we are here.

  8.         For you, the reader of electronic literature, we users of The
  9. Free American electronic bulletin board gathered some of our favorite
  10. writings, and created some new ones, to illustrate for you the motto
  11. of our bulletin board:

  13.      "Your free speech rights can change the world."
  14.  
  15.       How?
  16.  
  17.       When you freely express yourself, you give new thoughts and ideas to
  18. all who hear or read your words. New thoughts and ideas are what change the
  19. world within each of us.
  20.  
  21.      And when our inner world changes, sometimes that makes us want to
  22. change the world around us.
  23.      
  24.      This first issue of The Free American Magazine brings you words and 
  25. thoughts on both the lighter and more serious sides of life. Some of these
  26. words may make you smile. Some may make you think. Some may cause you to 
  27. want to change the world, and some of our writers suggest ways it can
  28. change, and ways you can take action.

  30.      That's why we believe the free speech rights guaranteed to Americans by
  31. the First Amendment to our Constitution are among the most important of our 
  32. freedoms.

  34.      Enjoy this first issue of The Free American Magazine. Let us know how
